View of Park Avenue in 1928 Print

Looking north from 37th Street toward Grand Central Terminal prior to the existence of the Pan Am (now MetLife) Building. Originally named Fourth Avenue until the 1850s, when the city covered the open train trench and created the Park Avenue tunnel (33rd to 40th Street). The top was planted with trees and shrubs, creating a green park and the street was renamed Park Avenue.

Black on ivory paper approximately 11" x 14".
